On Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th October 2017, Family Care hosted Macmillan Coffee morning’s at our offices in Preston and Wolverhampton.

This is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer and they’ve been running these mornings since 1990!  Last year alone, Macmillan raised £29.5 million and they are hoping for even more this time around.

Family Care were aiming to raise £100 for this worthy cause and we’re delighted to announce that the total sum collected came to £116!  Here are a few examples of how this money could be spent;

£28 – Could pay for a Macmillan nurse for an hour, helping people living with cancer and
their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support

£60 – Could pay for a Macmillan Grant that buys a good quality liquidiser for someone
who can’t eat solid food as a result of their cancer or treatment

£110 – Could pay for a Macmillan social worker for a day.  They work with community and social services agencies
to help people manage the social and practical problems of living with cancer

We’d like to thank everyone who attended the events, there were a few star bakers strutting their skills and not one soggy bottom in sight!  We look forward to hosting a similar event in the near future so make sure you check our News & Events section regularly and don’t miss out!  You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
