New Year's Resolution To Become A Foster Carer?

January 5, 2019 | matt

New Year, New You!  You know how the saying goes.  New Year’s resolutions typically focus on self-improvement: join a gym, stop smoking, lose weight.  This year why not do something that lasts a little longer?

Now the tree and decorations have been taken down for another year, you may have given some thoughts to potential new year's resolutions.

For a few people, resolutions can include a positive step towards helping others or giving something back.  Why not consider a resolution that literally changes a life?  Right now, there is a shortage of over 8,000 foster carers across the UK.  Deciding to help vulnerable children who are less fortunate than ourselves is an amazing commitment, not to mention the feel-good factor it will bring you.

There is a particular need for carers who can look after siblings and teenagers and we know that fostering families come in all different shapes and sizes.  With Family Care, foster parents benefit from unrivalled support packages, regular peer group support meetings and an extensive training programme to help their roles.

We are a family-owned company with over 30 years’ experience of looking after children and young people.  Our child-focussed approach and emphasis on carer support helps us stand out from the crowd.  We exist to help children achieve their potential.

When considering a New Year's resolution, Family Care urges you to think about the massive difference you could make to the life of a young person in 2019 and beyond.

If you think you can #GiveSomethingBack and would like to discuss a career in fostering, please get in touch today.  You can also check out our FAQ's page and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
