We often hear from people interested in becoming a foster carer but aren't sure if they are 'good enough' or 'right' for the job. It's perfectly normal to feel nervous about applying to foster, and shows that you understand the importance of this role as well as the potential challenges which lie ahead.
But don't let that stop you from enquiring to find out more! Diane and Mario felt the same before they applied to foster with Family Care, and now they are fully fledged foster carers with over 5 years' experience supporting vulnerable children and young people.
Check out the video below to hear what they had to say about the challenges of fostering, their concerns, feelings and insight into what it's like to be a foster carer.
"All you need is a spare room, and some time to give to a child"...we couldn't have put it better ourselves Diane!
New research undertaken by YouGov for Coram has revealed that around 11 million adults (22%) would consider becoming a foster carer. Could you foster a child?
If you think you could #GiveSomethingBack then why not enquire about fostering today and find out about the "world of difference" you can make!
