Can I foster?
Foster parents come from all walks of life, what's most important is what you can offer a young person. Stability, consistency of care and a can-do attitude are some of the common characteristics foster parents offer. If you have a spare room and the time to give some care to a child, you could become a foster parent.
What Support Will I Receive?
Support is such an important part of becoming a foster carer.
Family Care offer in-house therapeutic support for foster families as standard, so our foster parents benefit from qualified therapists suppporting their roles. Our foster carers are valued and important members of the Team Around the Child (TAC), which includes our dedicated in-house child support team providing direct support to the children in your care.
In-house therapy support including therapists and a clinical psychologist
24/7 support from a qualified social worker
Up to 20 children's activities a year led by in-house child support team
Action Adventure weekend for children aged 11-17
Career-level earnings : allowances between £380 - £550/week for each child you support
Mileage support to attend training - including access to Level 3 Diploma
Monthly local support groups
Annual leave payments
