Thinking of transferring fostering agencies? get in touch and we can talk you through the process.
All foster carers have the right to freedom of movement between fostering services in the UK, irrespective of whether you have a child or young person placed with you. These rights include financial protection, the agency you move to must honour or better the rates you currently receive.
If you have a young person placed with you, you're primary concern is what happens to them if you transfer to another fostering provider. The answer depends on a number of factors, but local authorities should not move a child from placement simply because foster carers are transferring. If the child is happy and settled and there are no safeguarding concerns, the young person should stay with their foster family.
