"Young people are provided with an individual educational package in order to enhance their learning experience. Staff routinely support young people in their learning by providing additional learning activities outside of the school day."
Ofsted 2017

"Dear Colleagues, this is a very exciting time in my career as I have the pleasure of joining the Family Care Group as the recently appointed lead teacher for Eden School. Prior to this appointment, I successfully worked at the same school for 10 years as an experienced classroom teacher. I also had the pleasure of training as the school’s Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator.

My role developed my skills through a wide variety of training courses pertaining to complex needs and learning difficulties. This allowed me to maximise the learning potential of all the children that I have had the pleasure of teaching over the years. As a parent, I have personal experience of having a child with special educational needs which impacted greatly on their learning in a mainstream school setting. I chose to change my career path dramatically and train as a teacher with the vision of supporting children with a broad variety of special educational needs.

As lead teacher, and in conjunction with the Head teacher for Family Care Education, I will develop the provision for Eden School through a creative, nurturing and therapeutic curriculum tailored to each individual student’s academic, social and emotional need. Pupils will be taught by qualified and highly skilled staff and have access to a consultant clinical psychologist and two senior therapists who will advise on our therapeutic provision."
