"Tom has made more progress this year educationally, emotionally and socially than he has in the last 4 years. Coming to Access School was so right for Tom."
Foster Carer - March 2016

The Access School team are committed to helping children and young people achieve their full potential as we teach and guide. Access School is a vibrant, enjoyable place for children to develop themselves. Our aim is to do the best for each and every one of our young people.

Access School is an ordered, purposeful and stimulating school that recognises pupil’s progress, differences and values. We work in partnership with outside agencies to encourage pupils to become responsible and self-disciplined citizens.

Young people’s progress and development is paramount and central to all that we do.

Sarah Whatling - Head Teacher

Since her appointment, the headteacher has improved the school considerably. There is a clear sense of direction and the school is developing well. Staff have very positive views about the leadership and management of the school and effective teamwork has secured improvements quickly.

Pupils make good progress from their starting points. As soon as they join the school, they start to flourish socially and academically. They make good gains in English, including reading, which for many has been a source of failure in the past. Pupils also make impressive progress in mathematics.
